Project Leader / Principal Engineer – Polymer Technologies

Job Responsibilities

  • Project and People Management: Demonstrated experience in managing teams of 2-3 individuals for a minimum of 2-3 years.
  • Formulation and Product Development: Proficiency in formulation and product development, with a focus on medical plastics or functional elastomers.
  • Material Characterization: Proficient in characterizing elastomer and polymer materials using techniques such as FTIR, TGA, and DSC.
  • Mechanical Performance Evaluation: Skilled in evaluating the mechanical performance of formulations, ensuring quality and functionality.
  • On-Site Trial Coordination: Capable of coordinating and conducting on-site trials, overseeing their successful execution.
  • Collaborative Research: Collaborate effectively with other research staff on various R&D projects, fostering teamwork and knowledge sharing.
  • Laboratory Operations: Facilitate the daily operations of the laboratory, ensuring equipment functionality, safety, and compliance with protocols.
  • Adaptability: Willingness to perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor, demonstrating flexibility and dedication to the team's success.

Job Requirements

  • Educational Background: A Master's or Ph.D. degree in Polymer Science/Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Material Science/Engineering, Chemistry, or related disciplines.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong foundation in polymer chemistry, material science, polymer processing, and organic synthesis.
  • R&D Experience: Demonstrated hands-on experience in various types of research and development work.
  • Teamwork and Independence: Ability to work independently while effectively communicating and collaborating within a team.
  • Analytical Skills: Possess a positive and analytical mindset, critical thinking abilities, and strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Ownership: Exhibit a strong sense of ownership and commitment to the quality and success of one's work.
  • Language Skills: Proficiency in both English and Chinese, with articulate report writing and presentation skills. Proficiency in literature and patent search techniques.
