Assistant ​/ Deputy Manager, Non Far-East Ports & Transportation Agreement Management

Job Responsibilities

  • Compile and generate regular and ad-hoc reports for management review
  • Forecast volumes, costs, and spending trends
  • Document cost items, identify and rectify cost issues where necessary
  • Forecast/Projects business requirement prior to vendor contract negotiations. Prepare, plan, and participate in such discussions
  • Review and administer contract regularly to ensure fulfillment of financial and operational requirements
  • Manage vendor relationship to develop understanding of the competitive landscape, including key issues of our vendors and other major stakeholders
  • Drive internal and external stakeholders to maximize group benefits through the optimal use of the procured contracts ​

Job Requirements

  • University graduate in Shipping / Logistics Management, Business Administration, Statistics or quantitative backgrounds preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience of financial and cost analysis, planning and operation management and procurement. Candidates with less experience will be considered for the position of Assistant Manager
  • Basic understanding of terminal operations required. Experience with Network planning work with Container Shipping and/or terminal operators preferred
  • Near native fluency in Putonghua strongly preferred; Proficient in spoken and written Chinese and English
  • Quantitative aptitude a must. Strong analytical, and problem-solving skills also required. Detail-oriented, sensitive to numbers
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated, proactive, out-going, fast learner and good team player
  • Proficient in PC skills and MS Office. Strong Excel and Presentation skills are essential
