(Hong Kong, 11 December 2023) – Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) and the Hospital Authority (HA) hosted the “HKSTP x HA Innovation Forum” in end-November 2023 to fuel more collaboration, technology adoption and co-creation between HKSTP Park companies and all services of HA, jointly accelerating the smart hospitaldevelopment in Hong Kong.
The HKSTP x HA Innovation Forum is a new initiative between HKSTP and HA among a series of other technology immersion webinars and workshops in the past two years, aligning with the HA's strategic goal of the provision of “Smart Care”, which will be implemented with the support and commitment of a “Smart Workforce”, and with “Smart Hospital” as a key enabler. Led by HKSTP, 27 Park companies showcased their technologies at the HA Headquarters to over 200 HA senior leaders and executives, of which six also presented their technologies on stage.
Mr Albert Wong, CEO of HKSTP, said: “We are glad to join the HA on their journey of advancing the city’s smart hospital development. The HKSTP x HA Innovation Forum is a new platform to elevate Hong Kong’s healthcare systems, improve efficiency in facilities management and other aspects and increase resilience to cope with future changes.”
Dr Tony Ko, Chief Executive of the HA, said, “Through our collaboration with HKSTP and strengthening the use of innovative technologies in various healthcare aspects, it is envisaged that these new technologies will bring a positive impact on the healthcare service efficiency, enhance patient experience, and drive ‘smart hospital’ development in non-clinical areas.”
HKSTP is committed to forging a long-term partnership with the HA to drive smart hospital technologies, innovate for better care and enhance the patient journey. To date, the technology footprint of HKSTP Park companies has coordinated the service provision by 20 companies for technology cases across public hospitals and clinics under the HA, as well as the HA’s IT Innovation Lab, with the HKSTP x HA Innovation Forum set to grow this even further.
