HKSTP Welcomes Top Global Graduates to the Innovation & Technology (I&T) Ecosystem Technology Leaders of Tomorrow Programme 2024 Kicks Off Their I&T Journey
(Hong Kong - 7 October 2024) – The Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) proudly hosted the welcome ceremony for the Graduate Programme – Technology Leaders of Tomorrow (TLT) 2024. This graduate programme brings together partner companies, esteemed industry mentors, talent ambassadors and six outstanding graduates as they embark on a fruitful journey of innovation and technological advancement.
This year’s programme attracted nearly 500 applications from top universities in Hong Kong and abroad, ultimately selected six exceptional candidates. Each of these talented participants holds a master’s degree from prestigious overseas institutions, including Imperial College Business School, University College London, Columbia University, and others.
Mr. Albert Wong, Chief Executive Officer of HKSTP, remarked, "Congratulations to the six young career starters for their remarkable achievements in being selected as members for the TLT Programme. HKSTP is dedicated to cultivating the next generation of I&T leaders, establishing Hong Kong as a magnet for global I&T talent, as well as fostering collaboration with industry leaders to drive technological advancement."
This year, the TLT young professionals have been recommended to HKSTP’s partner companies to take on various research & development and related roles. The companies in the TLT Programme include Dragonchip Limited, FCC Analytics Limited, InSilico Medicine Hong Kong Limited, Varadise Limited and Wurth Electronics (HK) Limited.
Pandora Tsang, a master’s degree graduate at Queen Mary University of London, said, “My motivation to join the TLT Programme is driven by my deep passion for technology and my desire to contribute to shaping Hong Kong as an international I&T hub. This aspiration is also the reason I returned to Hong Kong from the UK. Working and gaining experience in a vibrant I&T community presents an unparalleled opportunity for my personal and professional growth.”
During the 12-month programme, HKSTP will offer TLT members a comprehensive series of training workshops aimed at enhancing their skills in communication, creative thinking, and entrepreneurship specifically for the I&T environment. They will actively engage in Hong Kong's vibrant innovation ecosystem, expanding their horizons and contributing to the growth of the city's technology sector. The young professionals will also have opportunities to connect with startup founders and industry experts, significantly broadening their professional network. Additionally, HKSTP’s senior staff members will regularly mentor the participants to provide them with expert guidance on emerging technological trends, industry outlook, and personalised career development, thereby enhancing their competitiveness in the I&T field.
“Through my daily work and interactions, as well as TLT programme activities such as tours to tech ventures, have given me a better understanding of the future I&T development in Hong Kong, the GBA and beyond, “ shared Jockey Yeung, a master’s degree graduate from Imperial College Business School. “I believe the connections and opportunities offered by the programme will help me achieve breakthroughs in my career path, allowing me to progress further in the I&T industry.”
Launched in 2020, the graduate programme is a cornerstone talent development initiative of HKSTP, offering unique opportunities to elite STEM graduates from Hong Kong and around the world to kickstart their career in the I&T sector. Notably, more than 80% of the programme's alumni are currently contributing to the Hong Kong Science Park ecosystem, continually fueling innovation and growth in Hong Kong's technology sector.
