Drug discovery is a very important industry, and as computing power grows and costs decline, computer-aided drug design (CADD) is becoming increasingly vital. Virtual screening is a widely used CADD approach that helps identify potential drug candidates by screening large databases of compounds. An effective virtual method can significantly improve hit rates, accelerate the discovery of drug candidates. InnoScreen is a virtual screening platform based on AI-enhanced, high- precision quantum chemistry computations. It offers novel tools for small molecule drug discovery and is validated by wet lab experiments. We aim to provide novel candidate compounds to our customers at competitive prices while maintaining high quality and molecular novelty.

Job Description

Research Intern position for university students with STEM background to support computational chemistry research projects.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Data Collection and Management

• Collect and organize scientific data from various sources
• Maintain research databases
• Process and clean experimental data
• Assist in data analysis and visualization

2. Computational Simulations

• Perform quantum chemistry calculations
• Execute molecular dynamics simulations
• Analyze simulation results
• Document simulation parameters and outcomes

3. Research Support

• Assist in literature review
• Prepare technical summaries
• Support ongoing research projects
• Contribute to research documentation

Work Mode

Full-time, Part-time, Mix-mode (remain consistent within a calendar month)

Work Location

Science Park (Pak Shek Kok)

Preferred Academic Disciplines

Medicine, Dentistry & Health, Sciences, Technology

Preferred Skills and Knowledge

• Python programming skills preferred
• Experience with computational chemistry software
• Knowledge of molecular modeling and biochemistry
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments
• Experience with GPT for scientific research

Requirements:

• Currently pursuing Bachelor's/Master's degree in Chemistry, Physics, Biology, or related - STEM fields
• Basic understanding of computational chemistry concepts
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent attention to detail
• Good communication skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team
