Job Responsibilities
- Perform bacterial culture and colony counting of common bacteria such as E. coli and S. aureus using appropriate media and laboratory techniques;
- Set up antibacterial assays to evaluate the efficacy of new product or compound formulations against target bacteria based on standardized methods;
- Conduct bacterial growth inhibition studies and analyze the results to determine minimum inhibitory concentrations;
- Maintain bacterial cultures and stock through regular sub-culturing and storage in accordance with protocols;
- Adhere to good laboratory and safety practices, ensuring proper documentation of all experimental records;
- Assist in troubleshooting laboratory instruments and equipment, reporting any issues; and
- Carry out other lab duties as assigned, including preparation of media, reagents, and samples.
Job Requirements
- Pursuing or completed an undergraduate degree in Biology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, or a related field;
- Prior experience in microbiology laboratory work, including bacterial culture techniques, will be beneficial;
- Attention to detail and ability to adhere to standard operating procedures;
- Effective communication and documentation skills; and
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
