Senior Engineer / Engineer – Biodegradable Polymer
Job Responsibilities
- Work on the formulation development for low-carbon materials, including modification and enhancement of natural-based products and synthesis of biodegradable polymer, as alternative to conventional petroleum polymeric materials.
- Responsible for formulation development, preparing samples and characterization.
- Responsible for preparing project progress reports, meeting slides, SOPs, and other related documents.
Job Requirements
- Master or above in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Biochemistry, Bioengineering or related disciplines;
- Knowhow or experience in any of the below areas will be an advantage:
- Work experience in formulation of natural-based products (e.g. making emulsion and extraction of value-added products etc.) and their characterization;
- Chemical analysis techniques such as HPLC, GC, NMR etc.;
- Characterization of polymers, such as TGA, GPC, DSC, FTIR etc.; or
- Wet chemistry or biosynthesis.
- Strong quantitative analytical skills with attention to detail and record keeping and documentation;
- Ability to initiate and work independently;
- Positive, analytical, critical thinking and good troubleshooting skill;
- Have a sense of ownership for his/her work, good interpersonal and communication skills;
- Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese, proficient in Putonghua is an advantage; and
- Candidates with less experience will be considered as Engineers.
