(Hong Kong, 1 August 2016) - Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (“HKSTP”) today announced the appointment of Mr Albert Wong as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), succeeding Mr Allen Ma who retired on 21 July 2016.
Mr Albert Wong joined the Corporation as Chief Corporate Development Officer on 1 February 2016. Since joining HKSTP, he has demonstrated his leadership capability, quick grasp of issues, and strong drive for results. He was appointed by HKSTP after a global open recruitment exercise.
Mrs Fanny Law, Chairperson of HKSTP, welcome the appointment. “Albert’s technology background, industry knowledge, passion and determination to create impact make him an ideal CEO to lead the Corporation to reach higher goals, turning vision into reality,” she said. “I am confident that Albert and the leadership team at HKSTP, working hand in hand with the Government, academia, research centres and industry will promote innovation and technology to bring economic growth and better quality of life for all.”

Albert has over 30 years of commercial experience with various global enterprises such as Schlumberger, Caterpillar, Emerson Electric and General Electric (“GE”), across multiple functions, including general management, business development, sales and manufacturing. He is a veteran in different fields of technologies, such as electronics, sensing and industrial solutions, oil and energy systems, scientific instrumentation, as well as construction and environmental engineering. During his fifteen years in GE, Albert held various leadership roles in US Headquarters, China and Asia Regional branches with the GE values of delivering results and team collaboration firmly ingrained. He was the CEO of ATAL Engineering in Hong Kong before he joined HKSTP.
