HKSTP Park Companies Triumph at 2021 Inventions Geneva Evaluation Days with 50 Awards
Hong Kong, 31 March 2021 – Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) is proud to announce the multiple successes of Science Park companies on the world stage with a total haul of 50 awards at the Inventions Geneva Evaluation Days 2021, a special virtual edition of International Exhibition of Inventions. Consisting of 21 golds, 28 silvers and one bronze, while six of the golds with jury commendations, the HKSTP Park companies formed an outstanding show of strength for home-grown innovations in this year’s special virtual edition of the annual global awards.
This superb display continues the consistent past success by HKSTP Park companies at the annual awards. Local startups GRST (the first recyclable car battery) and Vitargent (no-animal in vivo testing method using transgenic fish eleutheroembryos) showed the way in previous years by winning the exhibition’s highest accolade -- the Grand Prix award in 2019 and 2015 respectively.

The success of the Park companies signals the growing HKSTP ecosystem strength with these great wins by technology companies from across the whole Science Park I&T community. The Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute (ASTRI), Nano and Advanced Materials Institute (NAMI) and the Logistics and Supply Chain MultiTech R&D Centre (LSCM), are all residents within the community and contributed to a total of 50 awards.
The International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva is widely acknowledged as one of the most prestigious invention exhibitions in the world. Held between 10th and 14th of March, the coveted event is a showcase for inventors around the world with about 600 inventions from 20 countries and regions judged via this year’s special online platform.
