HKSTP WELCOMES GOVERNMENT APPOINTMENTS TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
(Hong Kong, 24 June 2022) – Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) welcomes the HKSAR Government’s appointments to its Board of Directors. Dr Sunny Chai is re-appointed as Chairman of the Board of Directors of HKSTP, while three new members are appointed, and seven serving members are re-appointed for a period of two years from 1st July 2022.
HKSTP would like to express its sincere gratitude to Dr Sunny Chai’s leadership. With the concerted efforts of the Board of Directors and the executive management team, Hong Kong’s Innovation and Technology (I&T) ecosystem continues to grow at an incredible pace. Innovation is rapidly integrating into existing industries through advanced manufacturing technologies to achieve a vision of “Innofacturing Tomorrow”, with the goal to transform traditional industries, accelerate reindustrialisation in Hong Kong and deliver a comprehensive I&T ecosystem from research to industry.
It is exciting to see the latest board member appointments and the reappointment of existing key members. Mr Conrad Chan, Dr Samson Tam and Ms Phoebe Tse are appointed as new board members of the HKSTP. Meanwhile, Mr Chen Shuang, Mr Herbert Chia, Mr Donald Choi, Mr Dennis Ho, Dr Stephanie Ma, Mr Daryl Ng and The Hon. Jimmy Ng will continue their tenures on the Board until end of June in 2024. HKSTP is also thankful to the two outgoing board members, Mr. Joseph Ngai and Mr. Gavin Poon, for their tremendous contribution and wise counsel to HKSTP’s development.
With the Board of Directors’ extensive experience and deep industry knowledge, HKSTP is committed to delivering on its promise to support startups and tech ventures, developing and nurturing the city’s innovation and technology talent base, accelerating research-to-industry, connecting high-growth tech startups with investors, and helping tech companies expand their businesses in the mainland and overseas. We are also dedicated to capturing the enormous growth opportunities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area as well as contributing to Hong Kong’s development as an international I&T hub.
