The autonomous tyre condition monitoring system (A-TCMS) is a wireless electronic device that supplies a maintenance-free and battery-less solution for monitoring automobile tyre conditions. The A-TCMS consists of four key design elements: a sensing module, an energy harvesting module, a control module, and a wireless communication module. It is capable of autonomously monitoring tyre pressure and temperature, wheel speed and load, and the contact patch in real-time. The system wirelessly transfers information about the tyre condition to the engine and powertrain control modules in real-time, enhancing fuel efficiency and driving safety.
