Chinese Premier Li Qiang officiated the event at the opening ceremony. He proposed several key recommendations. First, nations must collaborate to facilitate the cross-border flow of data and the exchange of talent, thereby collectively ensuring the security and stability of our industrial and supply chains. Second, it is essential for all stakeholders to work together to create a fair and open environment for the development of artificial intelligence, particularly to aid developing nations in enhancing their capabilities. Third, we must endeavour to establish comprehensive international mechanisms that will develop and enforce globally accepted governance frameworks and standards.”
In anticipation of this AI era, HKSTP has established a supercomputing centre at the Tseung Kwan O InnoPark, which is expected to commence operations in the second half of this year. Alongside the Data Technology Hub (DT Hub) and the state-of-the-art Digital Service Hub, these facilities are designed to foster the development of AI and reinforce Hong Kong's position as an international hub for innovation and technology (I&T).
