China Resources and HKSTP Jointly Launch ‘Beyond Dreams – Global Talent Ignite’ Programme Rolling Out the Red Carpet to Attract Global Hong Kong I&T Talent Back Home

(Hong Kong, 28 March 2025) — China Resources (Holdings) Co., Ltd. (China Resources Group) and the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) have partnered to jointly launch the "Beyond Dreams" initiative, supported by a HK$100 million donation from the China Resources Charitable Foundation, to support innovation and entrepreneurship. The two parties announced a new chapter of the programme – "Beyond Dreams – Global Talent Ignite"– to encourage Hong Kong students and research professionals currently overseas to return to Hong Kong for career development opportunities. Eligible returnees will receive up to HK$10,000 monthly salary or accommodation subsidies for a period of six months to one year, to support their integration into Hong Kong’s I&T sector, enabling them to apply their international knowledge and expertise to further expand Hong Kong’s I&T talent pool, and reinforce the city’s position as a leading global I&T hub.
At the launch ceremony, Mr Qian Jian, Vice President of CR Enterprise, China Resources Venture, said, "Hong Kong boasts world-class scientific research facilities, an open and inclusive environment for innovation, and vast market opportunities. More importantly, it has the strong backing jointly established by China Resources Group and HKSTP. This programme brings global I&T talent back to Hong Kong, enabling them to pursue entrepreneurship with peace of mind and enjoy a fulfilling life in the city. We believe that every returning talent will find their own stage in Hong Kong, where they can realise their life aspirations and fulfil their personal value."
Ms Fanny Wong, Head of Talents and Human Resources at HKSTP, said, "The 'Beyond Dreams - Global Talent Ignite' programme, in collaboration with China Resources Group, lays out the ‘red carpet’ for talent, encouraging more Hong Kong professionals currently overseas to return and seize the tremendous opportunities arising from Hong Kong’s I&T development. We will continue to attract global talent to companies in our Science Park, enhance their competitiveness, and drive Hong Kong towards becoming an international hub for top-tier talent.”
“In recent years, HKSTP has successfully built bridges between the I&T community and talent from around the world. In early March, we visited several renowned universities in the UK, proactively reaching out to international tech professionals and attracting talent with a global mindset. Our ‘Global Internship Programme’, in collaboration with several top 20 globally ranked universities, has already received over 2,700 applications from outstanding overseas students this year. This underscores the global appeal of Hong Kong’s I&T ecosystem and strengthens our resolve to propel the city as a world-class I&T hub."
The 'Global Talent Ignite' programme requires candidates to meet specific criteria, including currently residing overseas, holding Hong Kong permanent resident status, or having lived, worked, or studied in Hong Kong for at least three years. Candidates must also possess relevant academic qualifications and experience in I&T. The goal is to accurately identify and attract returning I&T professionals, injecting strong momentum into the city’s I&T enterprises.
