Job Responsibilities
- To check, review and assist shipbuilder and maker’s relevant technical drawings and calculations
- Inspect and witness the test and trial on site regarding the construction of the hull, superstructure, outfitting and other related issues of new buildings to meet the standard
- To witness and inspect relevant tank tests, shop tests to meet the performance and function requirement of newbuilding
- To prepare weekly & monthly inspection reports during new building construction period at site
- To upkeep all records, drawings, technical data & e-filing
- To collect feedback from vessels, internal and external stakeholders for new building design and workmanship improvements
- To perform any other duties as required by the supervisor
Job Requirements
- Bachelor or Master degree of Naval architecture
- Min. 5 years’ relevant working experience in ship structure design and/or general design, or plan approval on hull part in major Classification Societies, preferrable on large container vessels experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in shipyard on quality control or hull inspection
- Familiar with IMO, Class rule & regulation, ship design and shipbuilding, with industry practice and quality standards
- Good analytical, problem solving, interpersonal and communication skills
- Knowledge in Computer (MS Office, AutoCAD and Technical software)
- Mature, Self-motivated, deadline-driven, diligent and willing to work under pressure and overtime; willing to work home or aboard for long period
- Proficient in spoken and written English and Chinese; good command of Putonghua a plus
