Job Description
We seek a talented and detail-oriented 3D Assets Engineer to join our team and play a critical role in developing high-quality, optimized 3D assets for our browser-based virtual environment. The ideal candidate will work closely with our development team, designers, and product managers to create, optimize, and integrate 3D models and assets that support a seamless user experience in a web-based application. This role requires knowledge of 3D modeling, texturing, and asset optimization for real-time rendering pipelines, as well as a strong understanding of interactive 3D environments in a browser context.As the 3D Assets Engineer, you will be responsible for creating scalable, lightweight, and visually appealing 3D assets that align with our app's performance and aesthetic requirements, ensuring they integrate smoothly into our web app's pipeline.

Preferred Skills and Knowledge
- 3D Modeling Tools: Basic familiarity with Blender 3D or similar 3D modeling software for creating and editing 3D assets.
- 3D Scanning Tools: Exposure to tools like RealityScan, Polycam, or KIRI Engine, with a willingness to learn and experiment with 3D scanning workflows.
- Photogrammetry and LiDAR: Interest in or basic knowledge of photogrammetry and LiDAR technologies for capturing and processing real-world objects into 3D models.
- Texture and Material Creation: Some experience or interest in creating textures using tools such as Substance Painter, Quixel Mixer, or basic photo editing tools like Photoshop.
- 3D Asset Optimization: A basic understanding of optimizing 3D assets (e.g., reducing polygon counts, UV mapping, and texture baking) or a willingness to develop these skills.
- Rendering and Web Technologies: Exposure to or interest in tools like three.js or WebGL for displaying 3D content in a browser.
